The prospect of picking my own subject matter to force upon other people to give attention too is massively great and massively terrible. Massively great as this is a lovely chance to force people into thinking how I think, just for a split second, or at least I hope so.. However, my track record of picking something that interests me and then creating a project hasn't always been great. I often find it hard to translate clearly my mind set into something approachable and understandable. I do need to conquer this so I should just take the bull by the horns and get on with it.
Straight away in that briefing I wrote down: Ballet because I believe it is the most beautiful and just maximum potential of making the most of your body. It is a beautiful thing that I have always loved. Then there was maths, merely because I think the fact that the answer is non negotiable (ie a breather from the ever evolving design world) To marry both those subjects could be really interesting. Layout was also on my list as I find myself always being attracted to it. It would be a great self discovery opportunity to find out precisely why I love it so much. I am put off of this though as that is something I could do anyway and I dont think this unusual brief would be used to its fullest spontaneity. I also wrote down something I could discuss until I die. I dont really drink I hate drugs and cigarettes, they are all rank. So my subject could be the fact that children want to grow up too fast and the traditional humble lifestyles have vanished. Innocence is gone and everyone wants to shorten their lives with horrible chemicals and talk horribly. Finally, my personal favourite. Ever since 2007 I have mentally documented colour schemes I come across, accidental or purposeful. I love colour co ordination, from socks to standing infront of a wall that looks nice against your jumper etcetc. I love co ordinating outfits that involve inklings of this. i would love to put study into 'thinking out loud'. I think being artists I dont really understand how this doesnt influence your dressing. I wouldn't want everyone walking around in artyfarty uniforms but just elements of thought going into an outift as such time and precision is taken into putting it down on paper in the name of design. I would like to make it 3-D and show people to "think out loud" and really think about their surroundings especially against what they are projecting themselves..

just a thought
